MCCANDLESS CROSSING HOSTS WINTERFEST EVENT ON FEBRUARY 22

Event features an ice carving demonstration and other family friendly winter-themed activities

McCandless, PA (February 13, 2020) – Adventure Development’s McCandless Crossing lifestyle center is excited to host Winterfest at McCandless Crossing on Saturday, February 22. Sponsored by AHN McCandless Neighborhood Hospital, the event features winter-themed activities for the entire family.

 The main attraction, an Ice Carving Demonstration, will take place from 2 to 4 pm on the Town Green. Pittsburgh-based Mastro Ice will be on hand to carve an Instagram-worthy royal throne chair as well as several other ice sculptures. A frozen cornhole game will add to the frosty fun and games on the Green. Ice carving sponsors include Fairfield Inn & Suites, Handel’s homemade ice cream and RE/MAX Select Realty.

 Other activities happening throughout the shopping center include:

  •  10 to 11 am – Bring the kids to Riverstone Books (8850 Covenant Ave.) for a Winter Storytime and Crafts

  • 12:30, 1, 1:30 pm – Enjoy a free 20-minute barre sampler class with a heated twist at The Barre Code (741 Providence Blvd.)

  • 1 to 2 pm – Stop by RE/MAX Select Realty (8858 Covenant Ave.) to enter a Children’s Winter

Coloring Contest for ages 1 and up.

  • 4 to 6 pm – Dine with a winter snow princess at IHOP (9036 St. Simon Way) in McCandless Crossing. Call 412.364.1618 for advance reservations. Princess attire is welcome and encouraged!

Visit participating McCandless Crossing restaurants and shops for special Winterfest-themed beverages, seasonal sales and prize baskets, including:

  • Gifted Hands - Complimentary warm apple cider and wine for adults, along with special savings on winter weather merchandise and a raffle basket.

  • The Barre Code - light refreshments from 1 to 2 pm.

  • Longhorn Steakhouse - Hot Chocolate Winter for children; Winter Spice Margarita for adults; Winter Burger w/Bacon, Swiss & Fried Onion Straws.

  • Burgatory –Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Shake

  • Milkshake Factory – Hot Chocolate drink, shake and float

  • Pet Valu – Free pet treats and a raffle basket on the Town Green
